Philip Schmitt (1840-1915) in Union Army uniform c.1865. Philip entered service in 1861 as a private in Company B, 2nd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry (3 month term). He reenlisted in 1862 and ended service in 1865 as Captain of Company D, 108th Regiment, OVI. (1)
